Music in Care Homes

Music in Care Homes
29th May 2015 Jan Lockyer

People of all ages generally enjoy a good live musical performance and we have news of two groups playing in care homes in Essex.

One is Live Music Now, a charity that engages young professional musicians to give concerts in various musical genres and styles. The musicians are chosen both for their musical skills and also for their ability to respond and relate to their audiences at a personal level.

Their concerts in Essex care homes have been much enjoyed and praised. Live Music Now does have to make a charge to cover costs and payments to the musicians, but the concerts are always a treat. You can find out more at www.livemusicnow.org

John Cox of the Darkwood Ensemble told us: “The Darkwood Wind Ensemble, normally a quartet of clarinets and saxophones, is available to play a varied programme of music for you.  If you wish to make a donation to cover our costs, that would be appreciated.  For further details please contact John Cox on 01245 355227 or johncox128@hotmail.comCello
