Thank you to Mary, a resident of Carnarvon Nursing Home in Clacton, for taking the time to make a selection of Trauma Teddies. These Teddies will be given to Police in Clacton so they can offer them to the young children they come into contact with as a result of any suffering, being lost or witnessing a road traffic accident for example. Mary heard of incidents where vulnerable young children had been given a Teddy by the Police to comfort them – she wanted to help, so set about making some herself.
Mary’s kindness highlights that people living in residential care can be good FaNs (Friends and Neighbours) of their local community, as well as vice versa. What a great idea!
