In July, we were offered a great opportunity to feature in a film to be made by ITN in conjunction with Care England, as part of their “Caring Communities” programme.
The film will broadcast at the Care England 2015 Conference & Exhibition in November and widely distributed to the care sector, policy makers and politicians, related organisations etc. It will examine major themes, issues and help raise awareness of the latest issues, trends and best practices in the adult social care sector. Various luminaries in the field will be taking part, including Esther Rantzen and Jeremy Hunt and the presenter will be Natasha Kaplinsky.
Filming took place on September 8th at City University and at Freda Gunton Lodge where there was a gathering of residents and FaNs Ambassadors, all enjoying each other’s company whilst Harpist Bethan Semmens entertained us with her beautiful playing. Our section will be available on the FaNs website in due course and we will load it onto laptops to make it widely available to our allies and partners in the FaNs movement.
The FaNs movement really depends on people’s good will towards our oldest citizens, their understanding of how good it feels to be involved and how easily they can help “make every moment count”. It will be a really good boost to our campaign to spread the word.
